This October marks 14 years (and 2 months) in practice as a licensed acupuncturist. With each passing year, I've only fallen deeper in love with this ancient medicine, which honors the wisdom of the body and its deep connection to the universe around us.
This path has shaped me into a joyful seeker, healer, guide, listener, and humble student. The study and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine has influenced every part of my life, from my daily habits to the way I see the world and how I raise my son.
It has taken me to far corners of the world, including Nepal, China, and Colombia. It has asked me to put down deep roots and practice intense determination, in both New York City, where this path began in graduate school (starting in 2009!) and now in West Chester.
The one thing that hasn't changed is my commitment to leaving this world a better place and helping people, not just in the clinic, but in every action and word.
Thank you to all my beloved patients, colleagues, and teachers for being part of this journey.
I've included several "highlight photos" below to illustrate milestones along my journey. There were so many that it was difficult to choose. I hope they reveal some new things about me and inspire you to follow your desires and dreams.
Advanced acupuncture training at the Beijing School of Traditional Medicine, which included hospital rounds. I wish I had a photo of me in my white coat in action! (2012)
Medical Service Mission in Nepal. This image is in Humla, a remote area in the Himalayas. Our group was led by my mentor, a Tibetan Bon Iama (spiritual leader), and local guides. We treated hundreds of people in need of healthcare. I dream of returning. (2012)
The day my business partner and I signed the lease for our massive space on W. 28th St in Manhattan. It became Nest Wellness, a gorgeous wellness center that is alive and thriving today. Come and visit me there! (2019).
The soaring waiting room in Nest Wellness, complete with morning light and handpainted glitter walls. (2019). Nest Wellness is located at 13-15 W. 28th Street in Manhattan and is where I see my NYC patients.
Offering acupuncture to fellow seekers in the jungle of Colombia. (2020)
Leading one of my Breathwork events in NYC (2021). I earned my Advanced Breathwork Certification in 2020, training with David Elliott and Erin Telford. Breathwork is a powerful healing modality that uses active breath to heal old patterns, move stuck energy, and uncover your true nature.
This profession is more than a job, it's a way of life. I'm excited for what the future will bring!
